Rhode Island Environmental Network
Providence Green Drinks

The Rhode Island Environmental Network is a group of environmentally-active people from advocacy-oriented and educational nonprofits, academia, green businesses, and government, from all over our great little state. Through this network, people have made friends, found jobs, exchanged information, developed new ideas and synergies, helped with others' projects, become more involved through community volunteering, and had fun! The RI Env. Network was started in 1999 by Bill Mott and Anne McGinn, both long-term professional environmentalists who had moved to Providence from Washington, D.C., and wanted to get more involved locally.

The Rhode Island Environmental Network also sponsors Providence Green Drinks. Join us on "Thirsty Third Thursday" each month from 5 to 8 p.m.

Everyone is welcome, there is no formal membership, no dues, and no agenda. Most months we feature a speaker for a short overview of an issue of interest and a few minutes of Q&A. The gatherings provide a great opportunity to network, make friends, create connections and discover synergies. New people come every month, just show up and introduce yourself.

Green Drinks is an international network that the local network became affiliated with in 2002.
